Does Your Child Manifest Arnold-Chiari I Syndrome Symptoms?
Does your child always complainabout headaches that recur even with no apparent reasons? Or perhaps you realise that his head is getting a bit bigger than the usual. Didn´t it occur to you that the curvature of his spine is more than the usual? Clearly, there is something wrong with your child. And the earlier you find out the reason, the earlier you can give the cure.
One of the possible problems that your child might be facing is called the Arnold-Chiari Malformation Syndrome or simply, the Arnold Chiari Syndrome. This occurs when the cerebellar tonsils (which are rounded lobules found under the cerebellum) are slightly misplaced at the base of the skull. When this happens, the tonsils block the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid and this fluid accumulates in the head. This enlargement of the head is known to us as hydrocephalus (because hydro [water] fills the cephalous [head]).
Most commonly, these problems occur congenitally. Some organs didn´t fully develop at birth so they had some effects when we grow up. As this is the most common form, scientists call this as the Arnold Chiari I Syndrome to differentiate it from the other manifestations of the sickness. And one more thing that we need to know is that it doesn´t manifest too many symptoms during childhood.
Unfortunately, when symptoms begin to show up, they make a bang. Headaches will be accompanied by strong yawning, coughing and sneezing. And when we say, it will make noise, it literally will make noise. Aside from the headaches, one can also hear the continuous ringing sounds in the ear plus vertigo and nausea.
As the cerebrospinal fluid is blocked from flowing properly, it may accumulate in other parts of the body too. This could cause cysts, (know as syringomyelia) to grow in the spinal area too. And we all know that when the spinal chord is affected, many of the vital functions in our bodies may be affected too. One of the most crucial is the possible loss of coordination or even sensation.
So, would you even wait until all of these things happen to your child? As what we have said, the earlier we know the problem, the earlier we can provide a cure. So, why not visit your doctor, just to be sure. That is something that we ought to our children.

Foods the Diabetics Should Avoid
When we or our loved ones were diagnosed with diabetes or even pre-diabetics the most important instruction which we/they all have to listen from our dietitians was to lower down the intake of carbohydrates. But the doctor only took the name of carbohydrate. Obviously he did not have time to give the detail of carbohydrate rich food.
I, respecting your time value, am not going to put you into the details of what are complex and simple. Simply, after a very brief review I am going to list here the foods rich in carbohydrate so that you could be your own diet expert. After going through the following list you can very easily plan your own diet. The diet which allows maximum control on your glucose levels. Surprisingly this control from now onwards will be in your own hands.
First of all what are Carbohydrates? They are an essential source of energy. These are classified as
Complex Simple Dietary fibers
A reasonable ingestion of complex carbohydrate offers a number of advantages to the health of a diabetic patient. It is always advised that a healthy diet should contain a moderate amount of the three kinds s. It rather should contain a huge portion of proteins. The carbohydrates which are not in a refined shape are more beneficial for a diabetic patient.

Pre Diabetes Diet Plan
I went in for my yearly, or should I say year and a half physical two months ago. I was a little surprised to find out that my blood sugars came back a little out of whack. Well, not exactly a little but very out of whack. My doctor gave me the news that I was now at the pre diabetic stage and the next stop was full blown diabetes.
One common side effect of high blood sugars is the addition of high triglycerides which I now also have. Wow! What a year and a half makes. To make a long story short my doctor laid out the steps I must take to get rid of what he called a red flag. Lose 15 lbs, eat fish twice a week and cut out as much carbohydrates as you can and take omega 3 supplements. I research and write about subjects for a living. So the first thing I did was jump on my computer and research pre diabetes. This subject had by far the most conflicting information that I have researched to date. There were so many sources of information and very few were clear on how to reverse pre diabetes.
After extensive research I found a weight loss program that I decided I would try. I knew that I had to get it right the first time because I was very close to becoming a diabetic I couldn’t afford any mistakes. I started a new lifestyle plan, I like that term better than diet, and added an exercise component. I added a brisk walk on my treadmill for 30-35 minutes 6 days a week. I have lost the 20 lbs to date and hope to lose 10 more. My blood sugar levels have dropped from 6.7 down to 5.6, I still have a lot of work to do but I am on the right track.
My new program is a well balanced approach to weight loss and is a program I know I can adhere to as a new lifestyle. I now eat to live a long and healthy life, I don’t eat just to lose weight anymore. My pre diabetes diet plan focuses on protein and fibre and complex carbohydrates. Foods I avoid are refined breads, potatoes, most pasta and pastries. Don’t have a melt down! when I say avoid I mean that I still eat these foods but more as a treat, like mashed potatoes with my turkey or scalloped potatoes with my ham. I have eaten both items and I am still losing weight and balancing blood sugars. The key is moderation and exercise a little bit more the next day. When you eat protein like steak or chicken and pork stay to a serving the size of a deck of cards.
If you like bread as I do then I would suggest buying sprouted grain breads they have half the carbs that whole wheat bread contains. Carbohydrates that are found in foods like breads and pasta and starchy foods like potatoes raise your blood sugar very quickly so you really must limit these foods as much as possible. Vegetables and fruit are an important part of my diet.
I have a family history of diabetes. My dad passed away some time ago after suffering the effects of diabetes. I won’t bother going into too much detail other than they started to take off limbs do to poor circulation. My brother was diagnosed with pre diabetes 2 years ago. He didn’t start a pre diabetes diet plan right away, and now he endures daily injections and some pretty ugly side effects.
I have watched loved ones suffer the effects of diabetes and if I can save one person from that experience that would be all I need. Start a weight loss program or should I say a lifestyle program today. Diabetes is knocking at your door, tell it to go away.

Diabetes Symptoms – Early Symptoms of Diabetes, Diet, Facts and Info
The early symptoms of diabetes are often taken for granted as the norm. Diabetes (type 2 specifically) is at an all time high in the United States door to a number of various factors such as environment, work habits and poor diet. It is said that todays nine-to-five lifestyle of the average American is the breeding ground for this disease. So how does one stay safe from this disease when it is so common among todays adults? The key is in early detection of the symptoms of diabetes and taking action in order to make a healthy change.
So what are the common diabetes symptoms?
The common diabeties symptoms include the following: excessive thirst, frequent urination, extreme weightloss or gain, highly increased fatigue, irritability, increased hunger, blurry vision, confusion, upon many other symptoms of diabeties. One extremely important thing to consider is that these symptoms do not mean you have diabetes, they are simply warning signs and should be used as “red flags” in order to get checked out by a medical professional. In other words, it is common for everyone to experience one or more of theses symptoms every now and then, but should not be ignored either. If these symptoms persist or come back repeatedly or if you experience more than one of these diabetes symptoms at a time, it may be time to visit the doctor to get tested.
Only a medical professional can diagnose whether or not you have diabetes through simple blood tests. The key to treatment is early detection. In addition, preventative maintenance is key to not falling victim to this disease. In addition, diabetes can be inherited through other family members. If you have a history of diabetes within your family, you may be at greater risk for this disease.
What is a proper diabetes diet?
There is a vast amount of information available on the topic of diabetes diets. As a rule of thumb, you should eat the way most medical professionals would want you to eat normally. The diabetes diet is considered quite possibly, the healthiest way to eat. Diabetics should eat small portions throughout the day, a healthy breakfast and a diet of regulated carbs as a routine. Many diabetics take cinnamon supplements as cinnomon can help regulate blood/sugar levels in the body. It is highly suggested that if you currently have diabetes, that you get involved in your own study of the disease and take part in programs that can help you cope and treat your disease.
If you don’t have diabetes, but you may be at risk, there is no other time like the present to take action to ensure that you do not become afflicted with diabetes. This is your best chance at avoiding the risks associated with this disease. If you think you may be at risk, there is no time like the present to start making changes in your diet and lifestyle to avoid further declination in your health.
Studies have also shown that not getting enough sleep also contributes to your chances of getting diabetes, and those who have diabetes, it is more important than ever to get enough restful sleep every night. Sleep is highly under-rated in today’s society but lack of sleep can easily cause a multitude of long-term health problems and should be taken seriously. Like sleep, exercise, even a short walk every day, can greatly increase your health and put you further away from the risks associated with diabetes.
Is there a diabetes cure?
This is a highly argued topic as the diabetes symptoms can be suppressed so much that they are almost, if not completely, undetectable. There are many programs online that use a variety of methods that can do such things. The generals are completely important; sleep, diet and exercise are key! Like mentioned before, it is highly recommended in getting in to a diabetes treatment program as to progressively attack this disease head-on.
The best thing you can do whether you have diabetes, know someone that has diabetes, or are at-risk for diabetes, is get informed, get educated and take action towards better health.
