Major and Minor Diabetes Symptoms

Diabetes is a chronic disease and has many dangerous side effects. Diabetes is a life threatening disease too. Some of the consequences of diabetes are blindness, organ damage, damage of the circulatory system which can lead to amputation of the body parts such as toes and feet, for some of them it may end up in losing legs and so on.

Type 2 diabetes is more common among adults so it is known as adult onset diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is mainly due to high levels of sugar in the blood. When there is high levels of sugar it is thrown out through urine. The increased glucose is also due to high intake of simple carbohydrates.

Major Diabetes Symptoms

Some of the major diabetes symptoms which make it easier to recognize the disease are:

Frequent urination: This is due to high level of the glucose in the blood. The insulin production is low or stopped due to the kidneys are not able to filter the sugar back to the blood. The kidneys here try to get more water from the blood to dilute the glucose which keeps the bladder full and makes frequent urination.

Increased thirst: As there is excessive glucose in the blood. The body tries to get rid of it by taking water from the internal system and a person feels thirsty even after drinking a lot of water and most of the times the thirst is unquenchable.

Numbness in feet: There is numbness or tingling sensation in the hands and the feet, which is due to the damage in the nervous structure of the human body. This is commonly known as neuropathy. Type 2 diabetes develop slowly to a person and most of the times a person is unaware of the disease.

Fatigue: The function of the insulin is to act as key and allow glucose to pass into the cells of the body where it is stored as energy. Insulin is hormone secreted by the pancreas. Pancreas consists of group of cells which are collectively known as islet of langerhans. Among which beta cells are responsible for secretion of insulin. So when there is no insulin in the body, the glucose doesn’t come in contact with the cells and stays in the blood, so the cells are starved which makes weakness.

Blurred vision, itchy skin and recurrent infections and poor wound healing indicates something is wrong and are the among the common symptoms of diabetes.

Should I Follow a Diet For My Diabetes?

What does it mean to be Diabetic?

Diabetic is not a condition rather Diabetic refers to a person suffering from Diabetes. Diabetes is a condition where excess of glucose is found in the blood and the person suffering from diabetes is called Diabetic. The body requires special type of sugar called glucose to energize itself and this glucose comes from foods containing carbohydrates such as vegetables as well as from milk & fruits. The glucose formed in the body has to move in the body tissues that work for the body. This glucose is then stored in the liver where the insulin enters and allows glucose to enter the body cells to produce energy. The whole process is referred as Glucose Metabolism.

When the pancreas is unable to make enough insulin, the glucose does not enter into the body tissues and remains in the blood due to which the glucose level rises in the blood leading to problems associated with diabetes.

Diabetic Diet

A good diet is extremely vital in diabetes. Below I have categorized different diets for Type-1 and Type-2 diabetics.

Type-1 diabetics must consume 35 calories/kg of body weight each day i.e. 16 calories/pound of body weight each day, whereas Type-2 diabetics should consume 1500-1800 calorie/day in order to increase the body weight and then maintaining an ideal body weight. However, the intake of calories should be varied according to the age and sex of the diabetic. The diabetic diet should also include more starch like bread, vegetables, and cereals with non-fat milk. Your diet should contain fruits, vegetables, sugar, and sweets in moderate level.

In diabetic diet, it is very essential to control carbohydrates level, because sugar is not the only source of carbohydrate but there are other foods also that contributes to carbohydrate. The body converts carbohydrates to glucose and increase in carbohydrates level will lead to increase in sugar level causing problems related to diabetes. Therefore, your meal plan should be designed to contain consistent carbohydrates level each day.

Summary:
Diabetic is not a condition rather Diabetic refers to a person suffering from Diabetes. Diabetes is a condition where excess of glucose is found in the blood and the person suffering from diabetes is called Diabetic. In diabetic diet, it is very essential to control carbohydrates level, because sugar is not the only source of carbohydrate but there are other foods also that contributes to carbohydrate.

Umbilical cord blood storage

One of the things that you can do to make sure that your baby’s life is going to be safe whenever he or she is going to need a medical procedure is by keeping his or her umbilical cord blood on an umbilical Cord Blood Storage. If you are still not aware of this thing here are some of the things that you need to know.

Most of the time mothers are deciding to donate the cord blood of their babies because they do not have the ability to afford the cost of the fees that private banks are charging the people who are storing the cord blood of their babies. But the there are also people who knows the importance of keeping these cord bloods for the life of their child in the future.

The process done to do this procedure is by collecting the umbilical cord of the mother and the baby where the nutrients pass. The process is being complete by the time that the baby is born. This will make the person doing this procedure get the right volume that they need. Then after doing this, the cord bloods are going to be stored on blood banks in a cryogenic manner.

When there comes a time that your child needs to have some implant the cord blood that you stored is one of the things that he or she can use to survive from the illness. The cord bloods are having some stem cells that are able to be sued on transplants.

There are already many instances these days where these cord bloods are being used on bone marrow transplants.  If your child is the one who needs this kind of procedure then there is going to be no need for a donor no more. The only thing that you will be needed is an autonomous transplant.
